Spring Break at Valley of the Waves, at Sun City Resort

I have recently I was with my daughter and her friend to the Valley of the Waves at Sun City, a town in the Northwest Province of South Africa.

Sun City is located about 230 kilometers from Johannesburg. The resort is huge, with a number of luxury hotels, including the Lost City, the Cabanas and Cascades.

It offers a variety of activities including game drives [in the nearby Pilanesberg Game Park and Bakubung Game Park], gambling, bird watching, hiking, elephant goesand / horse riding, golf courses and water sports.

We did not want our limited time trying to race through the city to do anything to spend, too. So we decided to spend the most time on the beach, to participate in spring break activities.

For one week in September, a mobile society, whose activities I pursue hosting a week-long event, may come to play in the family, to see extreme water sports and relaxation. People can come on day trips for the event, whichlive on radio and TV.

In contrast to his college associate cousin, it means spring break clean family fun, with infants, school-age children and young people play together in various, ever-changing groupings. Parents, grandparents and other family relationships can take a dip in the water or to participate in organized games.

I wanted to ride on an elephant in our program include, but overruled the girls to me, I was too busy to want to play in the waterTrouble with stinking elephant. I also suspected they were a bit afraid of coming close with a "wild animal", so I do not exist. Maybe I'll do it, we come next time.

Here are some of the activities that we have:

1. Took surfing lessons, and then chased the waves – the beginning was a strange feeling, standing on what the beach is well aware that the ocean was hundreds of miles away. But can browse the man-made to be high, even in this small pond, andParents and children can have a lot of fun diving under water or a wave.

2. Learned to climb – In the midst of the natural rocks around the beach, it is ironic that the area for rock climbing should be called artificial. But the kids had so much as they were climbing the real deal, so I do not complain.

3. Played some volleyball, some hula-hoops – The teenagers among the various factions of the family were happy the Assemblyyounger children and teach them to play or run a few contests.

4. Floating on the Lazy River – The river trip was quiet and smooth, until the stone monkeys on the edge of the river started spitting water in my face. The girls thought it was funny watching me duck and turn, try to avoid the water. Huh!

5. Went on a water slide down a steep hill – the person who goes up on a slide must be at least 1.2 meters, so that my daughter, friend, also ninebut is much shorter, could not continue. So we do not long for this activity.

6. Seen demonstrations – The formal program included water-skiing and surfing demonstrations, and dance routines from a cheerleading troupe. The dancers, who were mainly students very well characterized, their trim figures enough to the heartbeat of many teenagers pumps will recover faster.

7. Read a novel, work a bit – reading theWater-side is very hard work, especially when the heat is beating on you, urging you to drive to a minute or ten to sleep. I brought a notepad and pen, so I took some notes about the trip to write later.

8. Took pictures of some monkeys – On the first day of our stay, we lost on our way to our hotel. I do not know how I managed that, based on the place to go lay-out is so that I could from the beach through the entertainment areato the front entrance of the Cascades, where we lived. But somehow, we were seen on the back of the hotel, monkeys rummaging through the garbage cans and chase one another among the trees. We were very careful not to go near them, but we have so many pictures as we could manage without spooking them.
